Visa is taking its crypto integration to the next level with a new pilot program for USDC stablecoin payouts. U.S. businesses can now send fiat payments that recipients can receive as USD-backed stablecoins, potentially transforming cross-border transactions for freelancers and gig workers.

The initiative utilizes Visa Direct, the company's global payout network, to bypass traditional banking channels. "Universal access to money in minutes—not days—is the goal," said Chris Newkirk of Visa. Research shows that 57% of digital creators prioritize instant fund access, highlighting the demand for such solutions.

This MOVE marks a significant shift for stablecoins, transitioning from infrastructure to mainstream financial tools. While Visa has previously explored crypto integrations, this pilot represents its most direct effort to replace legacy settlement rails with blockchain efficiency.
